What is CLP?
CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging)is a European Union regulation that came into force on 1st June 2015. This aligns the European system of classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures to the Globally Harmonised System (GHS) so that all hazards will be described and labelled in the same way around the world. CLP uses internationally agreed classification criteria and labelling elements to contribute towards global efforts to protect humans and the environment from hazardous effects of chemicals. The new act will complement the REACH Regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals.
What does this mean for us and our clients?
In order for us to ensure that we will continue to meet this new system of classification we have changed the formulations of our Sanair and Puresan dispensers. Our customers can rest assured that they will still receive the same great smelling fragrances they are used to, albeit with a new look label!
The two elements affected in our formulas are:
The main benefit for our customers is that a hazardous symbol is no longer needed on the refills or packaging. We have just launched our new non-hazardous refills, labelled and packed in accordance with the EU CLP regulation. The new non-hazardous refills have the added advantage of being an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution for our clients.
