Wallace High School Students' Work Experience
Unicorn Hygienics recently had the pleasure of hosting two Wallace High School students, Sheila and Alonna, at our Lisburn office. They joined our marketing department for one day of work experience.
Introduction to Unicorn Hygienics
We began their visit with a warm welcome and an introduction to Unicorn Hygienics, a manufacturer and supplier of washroom solutions and hygiene products. As part of our commitment to the sector, we actively support the Period Dignity scheme, a government initiative aimed at improving access to period products in schools, businesses, and various organisations.
Period Dignity Advocacy
Our Wallace High School students were well-versed in the Period Dignity Scheme, taking on the responsibility of replenishing free period products in their school's washrooms. They also actively participated in discussions to challenge the stigmas surrounding period care.
Factory Tour
During their time with us, Sheila and Alonna had the opportunity to tour our on-site factory, witnessing firsthand the manufacturing processes behind our washroom products and they also visited our cleanroom where all our period products are hygienically packed and boxed.
Marketing Workshop
The focus of the remainder of the day was a hands-on marketing exercise linking back to our brand Unicorn Hygienics and the Period Dignity Scheme.
We dedicated our efforts to creating a social media marketing campaign. Our students engaged enthusiastically, conducting competitor research, brainstorming sessions and pitching their ideas to our marketing team. Together, we developed taglines and honed copywriting skills, to support the creation of a marketing campaign focused on the Period Dignity initiative as well as promoting our washroom and hygiene products.
A Valuable Learning Experience
This experience provided the students from Wallace High School with practical insights into marketing strategies and the dynamics of teamwork.
